That's a scarcity mindset. There enough problems that people will pay for, you will most likely be able to find an intersection of passion and problems people will pay to be solved

People don't care about your passion. But your passion will be visible in the quality of your work- this will decide your earnings in the market. Eventually your passion determines whether you are a master in your craft or just another mediocre worker. Most people approach this with a scarcity mindset, that's why you see mediocrity everywhere.
