India beating Brazil to build a UPI for Peru is big for 3 reasons! 🇮🇳🙌 This is such a big and remarkable event. But, it’s sad we aren’t talking much about it. Let’s change that, and learn all about it! .. 1️⃣ Brazil also has a UPI-like real-time superfast payments system. -> This is called Pix, and was launched in November 2020, almost 5 years after UPI was launched -> But, like UPI, Pix sky-rocketed and today commands a more or less equivalent stature when it comes to capabilities and innovation in the payments space -> In fact, internationally, there have been many debates discussing which of the two is better In that context, Peru choosing India over Brazil for its own system is a big win. .. 2️⃣ Peru and Brazil are neighbours. -> They are culturally similar and have a lot more going on between them, than between India and Peru -> In fact, Peru also depends on Brazil for a lot of things, and thus by all such standards, Peru was widely expected to go for Pix like system over UPI In that perspective, UPI coming out on top only sweetens the win! .. 3️⃣ India has so far taken UPI to about 10 countries. -> But, that’s been via inter-linking UPI with some payment platforms of the host countries. -> India has not built a system to take place of the existing systems in any country. The Peru collaboration is the first such case! .. Yes, one could say, Peru is a very small and poor nation. But, a product which runs well for a poor Latam nation, will also work well for a massive set of Middle-eastern, African and South East Asian nations. Thus, the opportunity is a massive one. Chemical engineer in progress here. Got a notification that we can now register for a minor degree, and l'd been set on taking programming. But our hod advised us to take Al or ML instead. I love bio and still do. See my gist? I'm confused with what to take Each choice leads to a different path and because I ain't interested in a single thing, I'm stuck. To CS engineers out there, do I take programming or Al ML? I wanna break into tech (freelance) and build a portfolio. To chemical engineers out there, should I take something related to bio? And will Al or ML help out in core jobs in the Pharma industries?

As a chemical engineering graduate, I would like to say that AIML applications in chemical engineering fields are in development i.e it's in Research such as developing hybrid models, digital twins, real time optimisation which are being adapted to some extent...we cannot restrict them to particular sector such as Pharma, these applications are general and can be applied to any chemical engineering based industries. The application I have pointed out is one example there are many other applications such as in field of molecular simulations but those would be useful if you are into research field. So I would like to conclude saying that applications of AIML in chemical engineering is in its beginning or the research phase so it could be mostly an advantage in the future. And reg. Bio it will be easy if you could mention which paper you are mention8ng about but mostly chemical engg ptinciples are applied in some bio related fields such as drug delivery, bioreactors etc
