Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates has said that Al, while transformative, will not replace programmers anytime soon, not even in the next century. According to media reports, Gates said Al will serve more as a coding assistant than a replacement. "In programming, Al will help with repetitive tasks like debugging, but it cannot become a full-fledged alternative," he noted. According to Gates, true programming requires creativity, judgment, and the ability to quickly adapt-traits that machines fundamentally lack. "Coding isn't just about typing lines. It's about deep thinking, solving hard problems, and being imaginative," he said. "No algorithm can match human ingenuity." The World Economic Forum recently estimated that Al could eliminate 85 million jobs by 2030, but create 97 million new ones in the process.
