A reality check of Big restaurants In May 2024, Hyderabad's food safety officers conducted a surprise raid on several famous restaurants. At Rayalaseema Ruchulu, inspectors found 20 kg of flour infested with beetles, expired milk, and unlabelled cashews. Kamat Hotel had unlabelled noodles and tea powder, and its staff lacked medical fitness certificates. at Rameshwaram Cafe, inspectors found expired urad dal, curd, and milk were found, along with unlabeled rice and jaggery. Baahubali Kitchen had synthetic food colors and severe cockroach infestation. Makau Kitchen & Bar, and Naturals Ice Cream parlor had expired food items, unlabeled semi-prepared food, and poor hygiene standards.
