I recently watched this video where this youtuber is trying to find out if the Oneplus phone available on Flipkart is authentic since Amazon is the authorized reseller of the product and Flipkart isn't. But how does this work? The listing of a product on any e-commerce website like Amazon, Flipkart, Myntra, Ajio is done through an Enlisting Agreement. What is an enlisting agreement? An Enlisting Agreement is a legal contract between an e-commerce platform (such as Amazon or Flipkart) and a seller. These platforms serve as intermediaries, connecting buyers with sellers and an Enlisting Agreement ensures that the listed products are authorized and genuine. This Agreement sets out that the platform is allowed to use the brand's Intellectual Property like the brand's name, logo, product images, photoshoots and more. If you run a brand whose products are sold through an E-Commerce, ensure that you have this Agreement enforced between you and the platform.
