As we move further away from 2021, it's becoming increasingly clear that the Indian startup ecosystem is uniquely distinct. A less widely shared view in the industry is that Indian venture capital (VC) investments are more likely to yield several $500 million outcomes rather than a few $10 billion outcomes within a portfolio. Consequently, the success rate for Indian VCs aiming for high returns (35-40% IRR) is significantly higher compared to their Western counterparts. The private market in India is challenging!
