In 2004, Tobias Lütke and Scott Lake faced a problem, they couldn’t find a good e-commerce platform to buy or sell their snowboarding gear online So Lütke built their own solution for this. But soon they realized that the e-comm platform itself had an incredible potential. So In 2006, they pivoted from selling snowboards to selling the tool that made selling online possible. So it was when Shopify was born, helping entrepreneurs everywhere to set up their own online stores with ease. It was popular from start but it's growth skyrocketed during lockdown when whole world started doing drop shipping. Today, Shopify is a leading global platform with $7 Billion revenue which is helping everyone make their own websites. Do you think drop shipping would have been so famous without Shopify?
