Entry level Salary offered by IT firms in 2003-04: around 2.5-3Lakhs. Entry level Salary in 2022: around 3-3.5Lakhs. Inflation every year is around 6-7%. Yet FD is where 58% of Indians have invested. FD is safe FD ensure liquidity FD return doesn't go negative But FD doesn't beat inflation. FD won’t make you wealthy So, a few months back, I started calling my friends and made them invest in ETFs, as small as 500rs per month. It helped them in 2 ways: - One who didn’t have any savings, started to have a saving plan for them now - Secondly, that constant green and red movement, keeps them interested and they explore more about the markets. Look, I obviously know Rs500 or Rs2000 is a very small amount, and initially, you might even not see any significant return. But, it’s about the little belief to find something other than FD, to help your money grow.
