The thing is that you are viewing it from an economic stand point which is not a bad thing, I do agree it might not be sustainable financially but not everyone thinks in terms of money. There are people out there who don't want a lot of money(although I do agree money is needed, it enables us to have a lot of things). Many people just want to do what they like, they want to pursue their passion, not everyone is running behind monetary gains. A person with a capitalist mindset will not get influenced by posts like these ever.
