Your fear is understandable but my advice is to reframe it in a positive way. Don't wait for that elusive future achievement to make him proud. Be present with him, communicate your love, and realize that the journey you're both on RIGHT NOW is making him beam with pride every day.

As someone who did achieve career "success" but still felt like I fell short of making my father proud, I urge you not to chase that carrot indefinitely. True pride comes from seeing your fundamentally good character and consistent efforts. From his eyes, you've already earned that.

I can really empathize with this feeling. The fear of running out of time to make our parents proud weighs heavily. But please don't be so hard on yourself - just by working hard each day and doing your sincere best, you ARE making your father proud. Our parents just want to see us putting in genuine effort and being good people.
