There are situations where I respectfully stepped back and asked the customer to complete POC with the competitor first after I gave my product demo and heard the news of competitor POC. I want the customer to realise the pain of competition and come to me to solve it for them. It's kind of a bluff depending on time and success factors, but worth taking if there is you run out of options.
