There are a couple of reasons why the Indian government isn't currently using 100% ethanol in its fuel supply: * Infrastructure limitations: Vehicles on the road today are primarily designed for gasoline-blended fuels, and aren't optimized for pure ethanol. * Ethanol production capacity: India's ethanol production capacity isn't enough to meet the entire fuel demand of the country if it were to switch to 100% ethanol. The government is working on addressing these challenges by promoting ethanol production and introducing flex-fuel vehicles that can run on both gasoline and ethanol blends.
