The idea is really good but it doesn't work in real life situations. See in the example you have discussed there is high possibility that there might be no one travelling to the destination at the given time. So you will end up in same situation. And security might be the issue. Privacy of the people might be the issue. Availability is not guaranteed all the time so users will end up in same situation as before.

Well I don’t agree to your point to the fullest, coz availability guarantee can be given as per the ride like if I’m gng to Khammam the next stop or next city there might be other people need to be dropped right. Coming to security even Uber/ola are also not secure, but still we use as per precautions. And for the people who are seeking for privacy can opt for no sharing cabs.
