Start with just 100 is far more better than not starting, this is the major issue with us , we all just skip the investment beacuse we feel this much is not enough, bro even 100 rupees is enough, what matter is the time horizon, of you keep on investing 100 rupees a month for 20 years , compounding will play it's magic . Conclusion: please don'ts discourage him by saying this much is not enough, let him start and please advice him to go with PASSIVE INDEX FUND, these funds are far better than any hifi sounding funds. I hope you got my point ! Still any doubt please ask 🙏

I agree with you here. It's not about discouraging anyone. My point was is it worth investing directly in equities. My suggestion to him was raise his sip amount from 6k to 10k so that he doesn't have to keep a track of his portfolio on a daily or weekly basis. Since he has no idea about investments and finance.
