How to Form Good Habits and Ditch the Bad Ones (LearnLink Post 1) 1) Be Aware: Record all habits for self-reflection. 2) Spot Negative Patterns: Eliminate harmful habits, one each week. 3) Instill Positive Habits: Follow the 'I will do (habit) at (time) in (location)' formula. 4) Habit Stacking: Follow the 'I will Do (This) after I do (Old Habit)' Formula. 5) Task Restriction: I will Not (Task) untill I do (Habit). 6) Shape Your Space: Tailor your environment for goal achievement. Practical Example 1) For example, I wake up at any time, then I check my phone, then eat and then brush. 2) I will try to end habit of watching phone and eating before brush using Will Power 3) I will set goal of waking up at 8 am 4) I will brush within 10 minutes of waking up 5) I will not Check My phone untill I have my breakfast. 6) I'll keep phone switched off at night so that i don't check it in morning (I know it hard) You cannot rely on Will Power thus make habits easy, attractive and rewarding.
