I’ve been working with startups for half a decade now but somehow my peers don’t understand the importance of value creation against immediate profits. Unicorns do matter. No point making small profit for years together without expanding user base. Then after few years a giant with huge cash reserves gets into the same business and gets the market, and your company will shut down, even if you have minted profits. Look at Uber, they recently posted a BILLION DOLLAR PROFIT. Value creation is the revenue, not the profit. So many companies run at loss for a few years, but when they turned profit, by the time they serve so much population. Google changed its company name because its investor misspelled their company name in the cheque. The public with absolutely ZERO vision doesn’t like to see Indian startup innovation succeed, they want Indians to run old traditional businesses (Delhi Sadar Bazaar mai Dukaan)
