The problem is real but I don't know if people will be willing to rent sneakers. Even I had a jewellery rental startup idea. However, if you are keen on pursuing your idea then I have suggestions and advice to give. Firstly, wear and tear will occur faster as people won't care much about it's condition as they don't own it. So, you must decide whether you want to collect a security deposit or create a machine/technique to restore most of the damage or refurbish it. Also, if successful it will be niche business as the Total Addressable Market is too small. So, in order to increase the TAM you should create an online platform where people can rent occasion wear such as formal function wear shoes, hiking shoes, ethnic wear and similar categories.
