Recently, I thought about this idea of cloth rental mainly focus on women clothing and men's shoes, Blazers. Women in general used to buy sarees a lot but wear only once or twice and also they want to wear unique/different styles every time. Same with men's shoes, blazer and formal clothing. To tackle this problem ,i'm thinking of a rental platform where people could rent their clothes for some period of time in return of money they desire, and also they can rent other's items. But I've figured out 2 problems till now - 1. What if some one didn't return the item , or if damages the product, who should take the responsibility and what actions could be taken? 2. What if both person start exchanging their products outside of the app? Share your solution regarding this and also opinion on whether this startup will be profitable in longer run.. PS. Why to limit it to clothing only like I used to play cricket during my school time and now I stopped playing but the kit is still there and that too in good condition I don’t want to sell it but could rent it for a period of time. What do you think?

Take some initial deposits from customer which is equal to product cost.. And calculate rent for no of days. It provides a solution for both of your problem. Return the remaining amount to customer once they returned the product with good condition

No one's doing it in certain categories like women's formalwear or just men's accessories at first. Trying to cover too many categories out of the gate could make inventory/sizing very complex.

This is such a needed service, especially for women's clothing. However, the logistics around cleanliness and damages worry me a bit. I know some rental companies get around it by having very high rental pricing to offset losses from damages/stains/odors etc. That could limit the customer base.
