That has to be spending on online courses. Worst decision. Only a handful benefitted me. Most of them are utterly useless.

Investing in chit funds on my parents’ recommendation. What a total scam.

Back in engineering (I was studying in a private college), I took out a student loan by fighting with my father that I don’t want to study in a cheap college. Trust me, my father was right. The degree never helped me, I never learned anything in college and now I am trapped with 12 years of debts.

Not buying health insurance. I went through Dengue and didn’t have a job or a health insurance. The bill was 83k and I had to take high interest loans as I was too egotistical to ask help from friends and family :)

I know this will sound rude but mine was sending a big chunk of my income back home. My mom and dad were absolutely dumb with handling money and kept buying things on EMI and wasted all my money which I thought would act as savings. Pathetic shortsightedness for their age but I have learned my lesson. Never again.

Personal loans have been personally my big fuck ups. I had a habit of taking a loan and then taking another one to shut the previous one. It’s a viscious cycle.

Not being able to save money. I kept spending all I earned for a long time in my career. My friends with the same salary accumulated great savings, made purchases and now I feel like I just threw my money away on material things that never mattered.

Lending money to relatives and friends. Haven’t see people turn so quickly when you ask for your own money back.

Not tracking the expense is big mistake. It will say how expensive it we are

Credit card and BNPL apps were the greatest mistakes of my life. You only realise how bad they are once you are deep in debt.

Buying a car when I couldn’t afford it. EMI’s are cancer. Please stay away from anything you can’t buy in cash.
