That's not entirely true. I am in to staffing and recruiting industry. I agree that there are people and companies practicing this method, even I know few of them. However, there are many factors involved in shortlisting and selecting a candidate so I would say let's not generalize this behavior/practice.

I would say fairly true In case of early stage startups - VCs scouts screen startups through these kind of signals on Linkedin ( ofc among many others ) and they often tend to look for number of open positions a particular startup has as one of the measure of it's operational scale or plans.

That is an evil practice. But it happens. Just for gaining some followers these companies play with the emotions of the applicants.

It's true, LinkedIn's the new catfish hotspot. Companies bait with jobs, but you're the catch. Always fact-check, or you might land in their net of followers, not their payroll. 🐠💼

Linkedin should introduce a rating systems for applicants to rate their experience in case they feel its spam or shady. It'd help actual people in need of a job to stay away from those postings.

I wonder if Linkedin will do something to counter spam jobs on the platform. It's utterly disgraceful. But more than the platform I blame these companies who do these shady practises. Truly pathetic.

I have come across some post, the most obvious give away that it's a scam is that they ask you to comment intrested or want you to DM them, unlike some people they share the link for jobsite upfront.

LinkedIN has become a lot of things now. Latest, it has become a matrimony site wherein parents connect with prospects for their children there.

Thats true most of the jobs on LinkedIn are dummy, the applications for these jobs end up in a no-reply mail box. Recruiters hardly respond to jobs applications applied from LinkedIn
