Zomato has launched a new feature that allows customers to tip the kitchen staff of restaurants they order food from. After rating their order four or five stars, customers will be prompted to tip the restaurant's kitchen staff. They can choose to pay a percentage of the total order value or enter a custom amount, with a maximum cap. Zomato will remit the tips, after deducting taxes, to the restaurants that sign up for the feature. The platform aims to ensure fair distribution of the tips by having restaurants pledge to follow through.
