The acquisition adds gourmet, high-margin products to Urban Harvest’s portfolio, leveraging its existing restaurant demand base for rapid scaling. Urban Harvest stated that the integration is already progressing, with complete consolidation of systems, teams, and operations expected within the next two months. Founded as a gourmet food brand, Cocosutra operates in the premium packaged food segment. Post-acquisition, Urban Harvest plans to enhance Cocosutra by expanding distribution, optimizing price competitiveness via supply chain efficiencies, and improving unit economics with its existing procurement and logistics network. Urban Harvest reported that Cocosutra’s business has experienced a threefold growth since the acquisition process commenced, benefiting from access to a broader customer base and enhanced backend operations. The company anticipates Cocosutra to evolve into a Rs 100 crore revenue brand within 24 months, aided by Urban Harvest’s restaurant relationships and B2B distribution infrastructure. Urban Harvest functions as a B2B supplier of fresh produce and food products to restaurants, cloud kitchens, and foodservice businesses. The company did not mention any changes to Cocosutra’s brand positioning, confirming that the brand will maintain its current identity while being fully integrated into Urban Harvest’s platform.

- Good Glamm Group has acquired feminine hygiene brand Sirona for Rs 450 crore in an all-cash deal. - Earlier this year, there were legal disputes between the founders and investors of Sirona and Good Glamm Group, but they have now been resolved with a new agreement being signed and all pending payments settled. - Good Glamm currently owns a majority stake in Sirona and will hold 100% stake by the end of the fiscal year. - Sirona specializes in menstrual hygiene products and offers a range of innovative products such as herbal pain relief patches, biodegradable sanitary pads, and menstrual cup kits. - Sirona's acquisition adds to Good Glamm Group's expanding portfolio of brands, including MyGlamm, The Moms Co, Organic Harvest, St Botanica, Baby Chakra, and digital media and content platforms. - Good Glamm recently raised Rs 245 crore through a rights issue and used internal capital and proceeds from the funding round for the Sirona acquisition.

With this, Walko plans to expand its portfolio and deepen its reach among urban and digitally-savvy consumers. Known for its offerings like Toasties, Roley’s, and Tubsters, Meemee’s has built a niche following among younger audiences. The acquisition will help the brand scale its D2C presence by leveraging Walko’s supply chain and presence across 100 cities. Walko operates brands like NIC Ice Creams, Grameen Kulfi, and Mimo Ice Creams, distributing through platforms like Swiggy, Zomato, Blinkit, and Amazon. The company, backed by JM Financial and Jungle Ventures, is looking to tap into India’s Rs 44,000 crore ice cream market, growing at ~11% CAGR. In February last year, Walko Food’s NIC had raised $20 million in a new funding round led by existing investor Jungle Ventures. NIC competes with new-age as well as established brands such as Cream and Fudge, Havmor, Baskin Robbins, Kwality Walls, Mother Dairy, Cream Bell, Amul, and Vadilal.

Absolute Sports, a Nazara Technologies subsidiary and the parent company of Sportskeeda.com, has signed an asset purchase agreement to acquire all the assets of DeltiasGaming.com, a premier source of gaming and e-sports content in the US. The transaction is for an all-cash consideration of $900K ( around Rs 7.5 crore) to be paid over one or more tranches and is expected to be closed in the next 45 days. Last month, Nazara Technologies’ mobile gaming arm Next Wave Multimedia acquired the intellectual property rights of Ultimate Teen Patti from Games24X7 for Rs 10 crore. It also announced the acquisition of an additional 48.42% stake in Paper Boat Apps (PBA) from its promoters Anupam and Anshu Dhanuka for a sum of Rs 300 crore. In May, Nazara acquired 100% stake in mobile gaming subsidiary Nextwave Multimedia by buying the remaining 28.12% from founders. DeltiasGaming.com had revenues of $575K (around Rs 4.8 crore) for the twelve-month period ending June 2024. As per Absolute Sports, it will use its cash reserves to fund the transaction. With this acquisition, Absolute Sports aims to deepen its presence in the gaming and esports media publishing sector in the US region. It plans to use Deltia’s Gaming’s user base of almost 1.5 million monthly readers and its long-standing brand equity to establish the group as an authoritative voice in the gaming media space. The acquisition also provides the group access to a large audience on YouTube and popular gaming streaming network Twitch under the Deltia’s Gaming brand.
