India's top IT services companies, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and Infosys, have seen a decline in the number of staff aged 30 or under over the past two years. Mint analysis shows that TCS's share of young workers has fallen from 59% in FY22 to 50.3% in FY24, while Infosys has experienced a drop from 60% to 55% over the same period. The decline is attributed to low fresher hiring and weak growth in the IT sector, rather than the influence of artificial intelligence on entry-level jobs.
