Former Union Health Secretary C.K. Mishra joins Practo’s board Digital healthcare platform Practo has announced that former Union Health Secretary C.K. Mishra has joined its board of directors as an independent director. An Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer with 37 years of public service, Mishra retired in 2020 after holding senior roles across health, environment, education, industry, and power. As Secretary at the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, he oversaw large national health programmes and complex public health systems. According to Practo, his experience in building and governing infrastructure at scale will support the company as it expands its integrated healthcare platform. Mishra joins a board that has recently added TVG Krishnamurthy and Alexander Kuruvilla. The company said the additions will help strengthen governance and long-term platform resilience as it builds technology-led healthcare infrastructure globally. Commenting on the development, Mishra said, “Practo has built a neutral, technology-driven ecosystem connecting patients, providers, and payors. I look forward to contributing to this journey.” Founded in 2008 by Shashank ND, Practo connects users with more than 700,000 doctors and healthcare providers through its platform and also offers Insta, a hospital information management system used by over 500 clients across more than 1,200 facilities globally.

PRISM, the parent of OYO, has appointed Ajay Tyagi as an Independent Director on its board. Tyagi is a former chairman of Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), where he served from 2017 to 2022. During his tenure, he oversaw India’s securities markets, regulatory frameworks, investor protection, and primary and secondary market supervision. Before SEBI, Tyagi served as Additional Secretary in the Department of Economic Affairs under the Ministry of Finance, handling capital markets, investment policy, infrastructure financing, and bankruptcy law. He is a 1984-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer and has held multiple senior roles in the Government of India. He currently serves as an independent director on several company boards. PRISM’s board includes William Steve Albrecht, Troy Matthew Alstead, Deepa Malik, Bejul Somaia, Sumer Juneja, and Aditya Ghosh. PRISM operates over 22,000 hotel storefronts and 1,23,000 home storefronts across more than 35 countries. PRISM had also filed confidential draft IPO papers with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) in December last year. For the quarter ended June 2025 (Q1 FY26), the company reported a net profit of over Rs 200 crore and revenue of Rs 2,019 crore.

E-commerce firm Meesho has appointed Jubilant Bhartia Group founder Hari S Bhartia along with three other seasoned business leaders as independent directors. Along with Bhartia, Meesho has onboarded former JP Morgan Chairman Kalpana Morparia and PhonePe non-executive Chairman Rohit Bhagat to its board of independent directors. Bhartia is also the co-chairman of Jubilant Ingrevia Ltd and Jubilant FoodWorks Ltd, the master franchisee of Domino’s Pizza and Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants in India. Before serving JP Morgan, Morparia was at ICICI Bank. In May, Meesho appointed Surojit Chatterjee as an independent director to its board. The development comes at a time when Meesho is in the process of moving its domicile to India from the US. Meesho recently announced an employee stock ownership plan (ESOP) buyback program of Rs 200 crore (approximately $25 million), making it the company’s largest ESOP buyback pool to date.
