Swiggy, a SoftBank-backed company, is rapidly expanding its grocery delivery service in India. Swiggy's warehouses are strategically located to deliver groceries within minutes, posing a threat to traditional mom-and-pop stores that dominate the market. Quick commerce, driven by the convenience and speed it offers, has already captured a significant share of India's online grocery market and is predicted to account for 70% by 2030. Swiggy, valued at $10 billion, aims to target time-starved urban consumers and plans to increase its warehouse count from 500 to 750 by 2025. However, the profitability of this rapid delivery model remains uncertain.
