This is for the Founders CTO CEO and the leaders out here, and a small question for job seekers in last. A long post (read it only if you care about your brand image and need top talent otherwise you can skip this). Employer branding is not about Glassdoor stars or AmbitionBox ratings. Your brand lives in WhatsApp, Slack, Telegram, Discord and that one post or comment on X that can shape or break your image overnight. It lives in how candidates describe your process to their peers, even after rejection. The first face of your company to most candidates is not you, not HR, not your website. It is the recruitment vendor. And most vendors do not care about your brand. Their job is to push 15–20 resumes to mark "Job Done" and leave you to play inky pinky ponky on who to interview. If that is all you want, post a job on LinkedIn and drown in resumes. But here is the truth. When a vendor mishandles or ghosts a candidate, no one says “the agency was careless.” They say “the company was careless.” Because the vendor is available with another job the very next day and applicants entertain them, But your brand takes the hit. And once that spreads in groups, good luck undoing it with culture pages or PR. Want to know what a good hiring consultancy looks like? that sits with your team, understands the role, questions the JD when needed, and vets candidates rigorously. Instead of a dump of 20, they send you 5–7 solid fits. They keep candidates updated, treat them with respect even after rejection, and leave people saying “I would apply there again.” Talks about your future hiring structure and strategize around the brand play. That is how a consultancy protects and grows your image. Even if you are not working with vendors, the pain is the same. Every bad candidate's experience today keeps tomorrow’s top of the line talent away. Employer branding is not a campaign, it is built in every touchpoint, every call, every mail, every rejection note. You can outsource sourcing. You cannot outsource accountability for your brand. So ask yourself, do you want to risk your image on resume suppliers who leave you to play inky pinky ponky? Or do you want a consultancy that works as your extension and makes candidates want to work with you again and again.
