I watched an 81-minute talk by an a16z founder about the AI playbook for the next decade. A few ideas stuck with me: 1. AI companies are growing unusually fast. Not just users or hype. Real revenue. 2. The internet is the distribution layer for AI. The internet took decades to build. Now 5B+ people already have it. You can’t download electricity. But you can download intelligence. 3. Intelligence is getting cheaper. AI costs are falling quickly → more usage → bigger markets. 4. Big models vs small models. Future AI may look like a pyramid: giant models in data centers, smaller ones everywhere else. 5. Applications may capture most of the value. 6. Open source vs closed source is still an open race. 7. People say they fear AI. But they’re already using it every day. Which probably means one thing: We’re still very early.
