It’s been one year since we went live on Shark Tank India. What most people don’t know is what really went on behind the scenes: a) The night before the shoot, Aryan worked through the night to ensure our voice fingerprinting / voice recognition worked flawlessly on set. That meant voice-fingerprinting the Sharks themselves so the demo would work seamlessly. b) The queries we typed on Ask Neo to showcase recall functionality had to be designed very thoughtfully to ensure we didn’t infringe any copyright. c) Ritesh mentioned that we had the potential to return to Shark Tank someday as judges, similar to Ring on Shark Tank US — unfortunately, that part didn’t make the final cut. d) I was extremely nervous about the internet connectivity. We were demoing a live AI wearable in front of everyone. If that failed, we would’ve been written off as a failure instantly. e) In just two weeks, we built two wearable prototypes of the device I was wearing on the show. One of them unfortunately broke just before the episode. Since the episode aired: 1) We shipped our first AI wearable with a completely new design — far sleeker and sexier than the prototypes 2) Built one of the most outlier hardware teams out of India 3) Raised $2M led by Merak Ventures All of this in 8 months. People often ask me, “What’s NeoSapien’s biggest moat?” For me, it’s simple: The team, Relentless customer obsession, Velocity of feature releases.
