The real difference between a good designer and a great one? It starts before the design even begins. I used to think starting early made me professional. So I’d confidently say, “Haan haan, I got it.” Even when I didn’t. A few days later, the client wanted something totally different. My time wasted. Their trust shaken. That’s when I realised — speed without clarity is useless. Now I slow down before speeding up. I ask uncomfortable questions. I clarify every detail. I repeat it back to them. Because 30 minutes of clarity saves days of rework. Good design doesn’t start when you open the file. It starts when you understand the problem. What’s your approach before starting a project?
