5+ friends are struggling due to early Marriage. ₹2,00,000 a month is a GREAT salary in India. But only under very specific conditions. If you’re 21–30, unmarried, -no big EMIs, -no dependents, -no crushing expectations- ₹2L/month can give you a very comfortable life. -Good apartment. -Decent travel. -Eating out without guilt. -Some savings. -Some freedom. Now comes the part nobody prepares you for. Marriage changes the math. Completely. If you’re the sole earner, the same ₹2L suddenly starts feeling… insufficient. -Rent in Bangalore / Mumbai -School fees -Healthcare -Family responsibilities -Festivals, weddings, “log kya kahenge” -Lifestyle inflation you never signed up for Raising a family today in Indian metros is brutally expensive- and society quietly expects you to “manage”. -No complaints. -No breaks. -No safety net. Just keep going. This is the real, invisible burden many middle-class men carry- silently. So what’s the way out? Not flashy advice. Not “just earn more”. Smart, boring, unglamorous moves: • Keep lifestyle growth slower than income growth • Be on a constant learning curve (skills are leverage) • Build creative/passive income streams early- even small ones • Maintain a minimum 24-month crisis fund (This alone changes how you breathe, sleep, and think) Financial security is not about looking rich. It’s about being unshakeable when life hits. Most people realise this after responsibilities pile up. The lucky ones think about it before.
