Yesterday my manager said, “Let’s circle back on this.” Gen Z translation: “We are never talking about this again.” Another time, someone scheduled a meeting titled: “Quick Sync 15 mins” It lasted 47 minutes. I aged 3 years. My coffee went cold. My soul left the chat. Gen Z doesn’t hate work. We hate unnecessary drama disguised as productivity. If the task takes 5 minutes, we’ll finish it in 5. If it takes 5 hours, we’ll ask why it exists in the first place. We don’t say: “Just checking in on this.” We say: “Any update?” Same meaning. Less suffering. Call it attitude. Call it swag. We call it efficiency with a personality. And no, we’re not “too casual.” We’re just done pretending that CC-ing 12 people makes work faster.
