i have been doing research on number of things a person uses his phone for and I have also been researching function which are absolutely necessary and without an average person is sure to not use mobile phone as often so a idea just sparked that can we make our phone much less distracting by having a new OS which has only the absolute necessary functions what do you guys think and if anyone is interested specially software engineers im willing to devote my time on this to make our life much less filled with distractions

Sounds interesting but world works on distractions, advertisement, promotions staying updated and making money out of this. You need to figure out how you add value in OS and make money for you. seems hard way. Rather build an app which blocks functionalities and keep those which are required, because people ain't letting their "smartphones" away. Which I guess you'll find already in play stores.
