💡 Building a Startup Is Not as Easy as You Think It all starts with one idea. We think for months. After we finalize it, we realize other products already do the same. So we think again and again — and finally, we find one idea that feels right. Now comes the hardest part — tech. We spend months building the MVP, getting colors right, fixing small details. There are days I spend hours adjusting just one color or icon. After 2 months, if you’re a tech person, you can build it. Now the MVP is done. You send it to friends — it crashes, doesn’t work properly. Some like it, some don’t, some won’t even reply. Then you spend another 2–3 months refining the idea. At launch, some say “This idea won’t work.” Some don’t even download it. You start doubting yourself after 6–8 months of effort. Then one fine day, users appreciate the idea and product. You spend another few months building the real product — servers, backend, UI/UX. It’s almost a year. You launch again — the first 100 users are strangers, not friends. This is where the game starts. One day — no users. One week — no users. You realize you’re lacking marketing. So you find your target audience, right platforms, and try again. You get 200, 300, 500 users — happy? Only for 2 days. Then comes the big question — Why should users stay? You lose users. 500 becomes 50. The app crashes, people don’t understand it, bad reviews flow in. You fix, rebuild, users return — until you see the server bill. You optimize backend, cache, and cut costs. You’re happy again — for a while. You’re at 5K users now, thinking it’s time to raise funds. Here comes the hardest part — investors don’t reply to your mails. You’ve no contacts to pitch. Hundreds of cold emails go to spam. Out of 100, one replies — ends with a “No.” You keep going… finally, someone says “Yes” to a meeting. First question — “What’s your revenue model?” You say, “We’re working on it.” Investor says, “Not interested, too much burn.” Now you focus on revenue, work 2–3 more months, launch it, see small growth. Users and revenue increase — everything looks fine. Still happy? Then comes retention — Why should they stay? You lose users again. You fix again. You learn again. The journey is all about continuous learning. What I learned in 1.5 years building Destiny — Be consistent. Learn every day. A startup teaches you everything — inside and out. It’s not easy.
