I just Spotted a UI mistake on StackOverflow. If you are a developer or even someone who is Learning Programing, You might know StackOverFlow Already. This Icon I have highlighted here, There's a huge mistake here that might look small, but was having me stop from using a entire feature on it. And guess what it's a chat. I as a new user of StackOverFlow I never knew it even has any chat feature, And the logo, Bro, Idk about the funky look and all, But the main "Icon" it's wrong here. It should have had that second dot at the right side, It might have been how UI's of the chat applications at that time worked, But it's different now, "The Usual Chat UI" for the people Living at this point in the timeline, They don't have have their own messages at the left, The chat UI in the typical apps Users use today work the totally apposite what the icon here looks like for there Chat Button. Usually how the Ui works for the chat applications we use almost all the time today is, The messages at the Left Hand Side of the ChatUI correspond the Person/User at Other side, And the messages at the Right Hand Side Corresponds the Person Sending message to the other person Let's say Person B at the other side. So the person A that is You/Me at this End say typing this post at are the right side. And the Icon For the chat feature in StackOverFlow not capturing that minute detail, it created a confusion for me about what the feature is, leading me to not even care/touch the button, let alone using the Feature Itself, However fimiliar I may be to the feature from another applications. And that's the beauty of design, it's soo detail oriented that you miss one detail, And it defeats the purpose. It makes the design look like it's blunt or just too random or unrealistic. Usually we ignore design as if it was some burden, but that my friend is what can drive the usage of features of your application or demean the meaning of a motion graphics You made, OR make the design soo blunt that it's more easy to ignore than reach out to.
