Why Indian Streaming Apps Don’t Really Go Global Ever noticed how apps like Hotstar, JioCinema or Zee5 are huge in India but hardly seen abroad? The truth is pretty simple their shows, movies and even cricket are made mainly for Indian viewers outside the country only the Indian community actually watches that stuff so it’s not worth spending crazy money to expand everywhere. And money is the second reason going global means billions in ads, tech and big content deals Netflix and Disney can afford that but Indian apps can not throw cash like that yet instead they stick to India which already has a massive audience and still growing every year. So it is not that they can’t go global it is just that staying local makes more sense right now.
