The rocket example is accurate but incomplete. Musk also had Gwynne Shotwell handling operations, Tom Mueller designing engines, and dozens of aerospace veterans. First principles thinking matters, but execution, team, and timing matter more. Ideas are cheap, implementation is everything.

Yes, I agree with you totally. Execution, team, and timing matter a lot and Musk definitely had brilliant people around him. But what I see first principles thinking as the starting point. Without breaking things down and questioning the basics, even the best team or timing cannot take you so far. The principle does not guarantee success, but it creates the foundation on which execution and implementation can actually work. Let me know if I'm right .....
