My take; The climate crisis will hit kids first - yet the mic is still handed to the polluters. I, too, find it difficult to reach out to children directly, as schools and teachers are super busy.

Not everything needs to be taken so seriously. If he was truly an award-winning cartoonist and a sensible person, he wouldn’t have responded this way. Nowadays, a lot of this feels more like a PR stunt. Adani has also contributed to the environment and supported the development of country in many ways. Moral stands don’t work everywhere real change starts with action. First, we should focus on protecting the climate ourselves, then guide and educate others. If he genuinely wanted to make a difference, he could have attended, shared his thoughts with the children, and inspired them towards positive change, instead of rejecting the invite over reasons that look more like a publicity move.

Easy to take moral stands when you don't need to worry about economic development. India needs infrastructure, ports, and energy.. Adani provides that. Perfect is the enemy of good, and armchair activists don't understand the tradeoffs developing countries face.

Adani Group employs millions, contributes massively to India's infrastructure, and yes, they're transitioning to renewable energy too. Blanket labeling them "environmental criminals" ignores economic realities. Sometimes pragmatism beats purity.

As a teacher, this bothers me. Kids at that school didn't choose their founder - they just want to learn. Punishing students for their institution's leadership is misguided. You could have attended, inspired the kids, and used the platform to discuss environmental responsibility directly.
