Bill Gates launches $1M Alzheimer’s AI Prize! Bill has unveiled a $1M competition calling on researchers, engineers, and startups to use AI against Alzheimer’s disease. The initiative is run through the Alzheimer’s Disease Data Initiative, with finalists set to compete in Copenhagen in March 2026. 1) Alzheimer’s affects over 7M Americans today, a number expected to rise with longer lifespans. So you can understand howmuch globally the numbers could be. 2) AI could accelerate research by spotting hidden patterns, biomarkers, and drug opportunities at scale 3) Gates personal drive comes after his father’s death from Alzheimer’s in 2020 4) Applications open now, semi-finalists will be announced in December AI in itself has the power to shift research from reactive to predictive, which has a chance to change the trajectory of one of medicine’s hardest challenges.
