🚨 Founders & Startup Experts, I need your advice. When I started building my startup, I told my early team- "Before we start developing, I want to be transparent, I’m in the early phase without funding, so I can’t offer compensation yet. But as the product grows and we secure funding or revenue, I fully intend to reward everyone who contributes." Right now, our team is small but talented, 2 frontend devs, 1 backend dev, 1 potential new member joining soon Here’s my dilemma: Equity: How much is fair for early team members? Should we do vesting & cliffs? How do we balance this with future investors? Profit Sharing: How do I reward the team fairly without hurting the startup’s growth? Fixed, percentage-based, or performance-linked? If you’ve navigated this, I’d love to hear your experience, tips, or frameworks. My goal is to make our early startup journey fair, motivating, and sustainable for everyone.
