The answer to that is the 'Network Effect'. Rn everyone uses YouTube because of which there is no shortage of both the creators as well as consumers, and thus advertisers pay well too. However a new platform doesn't have any of those things, and unless there is a clear reason for a consumer to move to your app, he won't! For eg, Insta was able to make reels so popular because TikTok was banned in so many countries and Insta itself had over 100 million users. Other platforms like Moj, etc tried too; They gained users for sure but it's still struggling because it doesn't clearly have any moat. There were few platforms which tried to make a YouTube clone where creators get paid with no minimum requirements and it's still not that Popular. Again because o Network Effect.
