Google's just playing 5D chess with OpenAI. They're straight-up raking in cash from OpenAI's GPU needs through Google Cloud and that's smart business, not some noble self-sabotage. Plus, every major cloud provider is trying to be the go-to for AI, so they'd host anyone. Google's also got Gemini and AI Overviews booming, so it's not like they're sitting idle. It's less "Yahoo helping Google" and more like "Google monetizing the entire AI arms race"
