Amazon just acquired Bee, and here's why it's a big deal! So imagine a tool that records all your conversations 24/7, and you can ask any question about it anytime? That, my friend is Bee, an AI-powered wrist band. With Bee, you can; 1) Ask questions about any of your conversations through their app 2) Get summaries about your day 3) Automatically receive to-do lists and more It's very similar to the Humane Pin or Rabbit R1 and basically like Neosapien, tbh. It’s priced at just $50, with a $20 monthly fee (following the razor & blade strategy), compared to around ~$150 for the Neosapien Neo1. I read multiple reviews, and most people say it does a pretty good job (though it's still not perfect). The most important feedback was that it feels almost like a second brain, so you don’t have to remember as much as before. About the company: Bee was founded by Maria de Lourdes in 2022 in SF. It has raised a total of $7 million in funding and is now being acquired by Amazon. While the actual deal amount hasn’t been shared, the acquisition has been confirmed by Amazon. Why its a 'big deal' imo: After the failure of Humane and Rabbit, I thought that investor interest in such products had decreased (and that was some what true too) but this acquisition proves that wrong. It shows that there is still a scope if executed well. Also now imagine if it also integrates agentic voice commands like ordering food or booking a cab too? That would make it super useful. What do you think?
