It's because of the competition that success definition is changed. The definitions change with generation. when you feel successful with hustling, enjoying, and spending time with family the scenario gets changed when this definition gets normalised and settled. and the new gen will find out something to break and takeover others and in this process the definition gets changed. People will sacrifice those things said above to take over those who have them. A simple example is, a person used to work 8hrs to do something new in the previous ages and now when everyone does that, people will work for 12hrs to take over them.
