Different markets. Different needs.

There are also food, delivery, ride hailing etc startups in China. And there are copies of copies till they run down the market completely. This one sided comparison isn't right.

does india has a garbage mangement system?? Traffic rules ?? civic sense?? Takes time dude chilll people are working on it
Every founder I meet wants to build the next Zepto. No one wants to do hard science. That’s the scary part.

Chinese system reward visionary projects no matter what the trend is. Where as Indian system support market trends and ignoring potential ideas. Anyway ease of doing business/ startup is one of the biggest problem in our nation that needs to be addressed. But no one is ready to do that except me. There is a day I’ll reduce at least some % of this problem with my vision.

Exactly why India will remain a services economy forever. No appetite for high-risk, high-reward deep tech. Easier to copy Western business models than innovate in hard sciences.
Indian startups are stuck in convenience capitalism. Solving only what the top 5% demand instead of building what the whole country needs.
Nothing wrong with solving real problems. Food delivery employs millions and serves actual consumer needs. Not every startup needs to be a moonshot. Chinese biotech is mostly copying Western research anyway.

Both approaches have merit. China has state funding for moonshot projects, India has market-driven consumer solutions. Different contexts, different innovations. The real question is execution and global scalability.
India is 10 years behind China in infra and R&D support. It's not a fair race. Let's talk when we get a $100B manufacturing subsidy pool.
This is what happens when your startup ecosystem is VC-led and not science-led.
