Network effect is their only real Moat; but that's the real one. At the end only 1 Platform will dominate and it's hard for 100s of millions of people to move to Medial as of now. Tho that may happen in the future.

I've been on medial and LinkedIn for a couple months now and I'll tell you what I honestly think I haven't seen any professional network dedicated to the start up ecosystem the Indian start up ecosystem is a niche waiting to be tapped LinkedIn alone does not satisfy my need as a start up founder sure, I can professional connect but I can only do that AFTER i wade through hundreds of generic other professionals I can consume start up news, raise funds if I want to (although this feature needs improvement) AND connect with other investors and founders in one place I have to stay anonymous cause I have a big following on LinkedIn haha

no one is can do monopoly for a long period of time and linkedin have also some setbacks major things they ignore

may be but why??? is it mandatory to break linkedin monopoly and to surpass it .. ofc not from being a initial members of using medial . I like it because of this startup and etc culture .Medial has their own uniqeness..And it's too good .

almost 150 million users daily use linkdin , they are controlling very well without any cringe things like instagram or Facebook , in medial around 20k people use daily , medial feels like community, but linkdin feels like professional networking app.
