Imo, best move is to start building during the trough when everyone else has given up. - Less competition, cheaper talent, lower customer acquisition costs. Plus, by the time you hit the slope of enlightenment, you're already established while new entrants are scrambling to catch up.

This is exactly what we're seeing with AI right now. We hit peak hype in late 2022/early 2023, now we're sliding into the trough as people realize ChatGPT can't actually replace half their workforce. The real productive applications will emerge in the next 2-3 years.

During 2020-21, Cryptocurrency also had the same hype pattern and on 2022, people got disillusioned about crypto. Till today people see crypto as a digital asset in a mentality of plateau of productivity.
