I scored around 90% in both 10th and 12th — did everything by the book. Instead of chasing marks in college, I focused on gaining real skills. I learned programming, built solid projects, participated in hackathons, even explored fields like web development, machine learning, and system design. I genuinely put in the effort to make myself job-ready. But despite all that, I haven’t been able to land even a single paid internship or job. Meanwhile, I keep seeing people who barely did anything but have “connections” getting opportunities left and right. It’s disheartening, honestly. The amount of nepotism and unfair advantage in the job market makes you question whether merit even matters anymore.
