they both are meant for different purposes, 1) both are frontend therefore you will need a third language for your backend 2) React is used for web based projects, mostly websites 3) React Native + (expo) are used for mobile app development 4) if you need mobile app , you will have to use both react + react native 5) react native is used to get mobile specific features such as contacts, location, storage, sms, notifications etc. 6) if you need those features you will have to use both
