Are We Calling Everything “AI” Too Easily? Lately, I’ve been noticing a trend about how casually the term AI is used. Not every tool with automation is AI. Not every chatbot is “intelligent.” Excel formulas = “AI-powered dashboards” If-else logic = “predictive engines” GPT screenshots = “cutting-edge prototypes” And surprisingly, it works — because everyone’s chasing hype. Pitch decks win funding. Fancy words impress media. Pre-built tools pass off as “proprietary IP.” But here’s the real problem — it’s killing trust in actual innovation. It’s also distracting from real builders trying to solve meaningful problems. I’m not against using AI APIs or existing models — but where’s the original thinking? What’s your take — is the AI tag helping or hurting innovation in India?
