๐Ÿš€ 10-Day Startup Series ๐Ÿ”ฅ 26th June ๐Ÿงต Post 1๏ธโƒฃ2๏ธโƒฃ : Today lets talk about how to build a Pitch Deck that can actually get you funded. ๐ŸŽฏ A Pitch deck is like a startups first impression if its good or else it would become companies first failed product. So, how to make a proper pitch deck, i am not mentioning perfect one because nothing can be perfect as you think. ๐ŸŽฏ So lets start with What is a Pitch Deck? : A Pitch deck is 10-15/20 slide presentation that tells the story of your startup and how could you earn from it. This like it a Resume with updated vision, having trailer but film is yet to be shoot. ๐Ÿง  What exactly can be the best or better deck ? โœ… Clear story ( Don't lie ) โœ… Visual clarity ( Don't exaggerate, just be honest ) โœ… Investor-focused ( Make interesting for investor, don't only focus on product / service you are providing ) โœ… Real traction ( Not only financial but also user-wise ) โœ… Valuation ( Some like exaggerated values, but i prefer you to be honest ) ๐Ÿงพ I will just drop one of the pitch idea ( might not be perfect but what i think is good i will let you guys know, you can seek professional help in this case ) 1๏ธโƒฃ Title Slide : Startup Name, Logo, Tagline ( Slogan ), Founder's Name + contact 2๏ธโƒฃ Problem : What problem is your startup here to solve ? Like what is the pain in existing solution or what is the actual pain of the problem. Use real data or story and show how painful it is. Just don't think ah this is a problem and i wanna start to solve research on it first. 3๏ธโƒฃ Solution : So you mentioned problem, now what kind of solution will your product serve for that problem, explain it correctly. Don't write some BS solution unless and until you have YC tag or maybe IIT tag 4๏ธโƒฃ Market Size (TAM / SAM / SOM) : How much is the market available for your product, how much market can be reached by you and your product. Don't just randomly type on google, how many smartphone users in India 600M and yea i will sell smartphone to all 600M. It does not work that way do your research properly ask users will they pay for it, will they use your product. Then get an estimated data and use real numbers not exaggerate values. 5๏ธโƒฃ Product Demo : If possible add a landing page or a video to show how your product would work. Do not explain too much just basic how does it work. 6๏ธโƒฃ Business Model : This is the main thing how will you make money ? Commission, Ad-revenue, subscriptions, SaaS, Transaction fee, Marketplace commission, Product margin etc... please specify all the kinds of revenue you could possibly do. 7๏ธโƒฃ Traction (Metrics) : What have you achieved so far ? Are there any revenue coming in ? or have you conducted any surveys ? any kind of testimonials ? Even a waitlist, pilot works as a traction. It does not always have to be financial remember it very well. 8๏ธโƒฃ Go-to-Market (GTM) Strategy : So, now you have your product ready and ready to launch. How do you plan to acquire your first 1K users ? If waitlist of 1K people then amazing job. If you are B2B so how do plan to collab or partner with other business ? what are the plans you hold to get them into your business. All kind of strategies are better to be included no matter small or big strategy. ( If you don't have any leave it ) 9๏ธโƒฃ Competition + Your Advantage : If you have a competitor show that how will you maintain the competitive edge, What is your USP and MOAT ? ๐Ÿ”Ÿ Team : Highlight members of your team and if they are perfect mention why are they perfect for this work. Also mention what roles do they play as a team. Keep it simple. 11 Roadmap, Vision : In next upcoming months what are your plans, and vision like where do you expect this company in few years ? ( Optional, but powerful if you add ) ๐Ÿ” Ask Slide : So here comes the point of Pitch Deck, How much money are you looking to raise ? and if you are looking for this much where do you wanna use these money ( hiring, Operational Cost, tech, R&D, GTM, runway How much are you raising? Example : Raising 1M USD, for R&D, Hiring and Operational Cost for almost 10 months of runway โš ๏ธ Common Pitch Deck Mistakes โŒ Too much creativity, and designs โŒ No story, just numbers โŒ Ignoring the market size slide โŒ Weak traction proof โŒ No clear ASK ๐Ÿ“ฌ Tools to Build Your Deck : You can use Figma, Canva, gamma.app, Pitch.com tome.app, powerpoint, Notion etc...
